When life with your dog feels harder than it should
It doesn't have to. Come and join our comprehensive support group for reactive dogs and their caregivers in Dorset
You love your dog. But right now, life together might feel stressful, overwhelming and exhausting.
Maybe walks are filled with tension. Maybe you dread seeing another dog coming towards you. Maybe you feel embarrassed when your dog barks, lunges, growls or freezes. You might even feel judged by other people, or wonder where you went wrong.
And perhaps the hardest part? You may have owned dogs before. Good dogs. Easy dogs.
So this feels different. And sometimes incredibly isolating.
You are not alone
Many of the people we work with are doing absolutely everything they can for their dog.
- They’ve watched the videos.
- Read the advice.
- Tried the training classes.
- Avoided places.
- Changed routines.
- Managed walks around quiet times.
- And they’re still struggling.
Because dogs who bark, lunge, freeze or feel overwhelmed often need more than obedience training.
They need understanding.
They need support.
And so do you.
What if your dog isn’t being “difficult”?
What if they’re:
- Overwhelmed?
- Frustrated?
- Anxious?
- Hyper-alert?
- Unsure how to cope?
The Reactivity Roadmap looks beyond the behaviour to understand what your dog is feeling, because behaviour is often just the visible part of the problem.
Undesirable behaviours are often a sign that your dog is struggling with big feelings. It’s only when dogs feel safer and more supported that real progress can begin.
The Reactivity Roadmap helps you understand what is really going on and gives you the skills, support and structure to help your dog make progress.

Join The Reactivity Roadmap Focus Groups
This is not a standard dog training class.
Some dogs need space, patience, understanding and careful handling. That is why we run small, structured focus groups in a private field, where every dog has room to feel safe and every session is tailored to the dogs in the group.
Your first focus group includes:
- A tailored webinar for your group
- 4 x 60-minute weekly in-person sessions (max 4 dogs and handlers)
- Practical handling skills
- Emotional regulation exercises
- Carefully managed exposure to other dogs
- Support between sessions in our private Facebook and WhatsApp groups
Starts Monday 22nd June 2026 (In-person sessions held in West Parley).
What we will help you with
You’ll learn how to:
- Understand what your dog is feeling
- Spot early signs of stress or overwhelm
- Use distance and space properly
- Help your dog disengage from things they struggle with
- Reward calmer choices
- Safe handling
- Build confidence in both you and your dog
- Make walks feel more manageable
We don’t just tell you what to do.
We help you understand why it works, so you can support your dog in real life.
Why this programme is different
Most classes end after a few weeks.
But progress with dogs who struggle emotionally is rarely linear. Some days will feel easier than others, some dogs need more time, and some humans want more practice.
This is not a quick fix
The Reactivity Roadmap is a rolling support programme, meaning you can continue beyond your first focus group and keep building skills and confidence in a structured, supportive environment that suits both you and your dog.
We are here for the journey.
Because we understand:
- How isolating this can feel
- How much pressure owners put on themselves
- How exhausting it is always being “on alert”
- How heartbreaking it can feel when life with your dog isn’t what you imagined
Most importantly…
We understand that both you and your dog are trying your best.
And that’s where we start.
This group is for you if…
- Your dog reacts to other dogs or people
- Walks feel stressful
- You feel embarrassed, confused or overwhelmed
- You want kind, practical help
- You want to understand your dog, not punish them
- You are ready to work at your dog’s pace
This may not be for you if…
- You are looking for a quick fix or simply want to stop the behaviour without understanding why it is happening.
Our focus is on helping your dog feel safer, calmer and more able to cope, because that is where real change begins.
